Vehicle bursts into flames after crashing into house on A4 near Chippenham

A vehicle has burst into flames after crashing into a house on the A4 near Chippenham.

Dozens of emergency services were attending the incident in the Derry Hill area following reports of the serious injury collision at around 3am this morning.

The vehicle is understood to have left the road, and hit a house. The vehicle subsequently caught alight, with firefighters called in to battle the blaze. The condition of the occupant/s is unknown.

Road closures are in place on the A4 between the junction with the A342 and Pewsham, Chippenham, whilst specialist officers from the Forensic Collision Investigation Unit work at the scene.

Drivers are being told to avoid the area and seek alternative routes as this closure is likely to remain in place until around midday.

Wiltshire Police is asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or has any relevant information, should call them on 101 and quote log number 64 of today.
