A number of people have been stung by wasps after a nest was hit by a narrowboat in Seend.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance was tasked to the incident alongside a number of other local ambulance crews. There were at least four ambulances and two rapid response vehicles in attendance.

It’s understood paramedics tried to battle the swarm using fire extinguishers in an attempt to get to and treat the casualties. The conditions of those injured are unknown at this time.

The wasp nest was damaged when a narrowboat moored in the Seend area – between Bolands Hill and Rusty Lane. As a result, at least four people were attacked.

Paramedics are advising people to avoid the area for the foreseeable future to avoid being stung.
