Fire and ambulance called to Purton kitchen fire as smoke fills house

Firefighters cleared a house of smoke following a kitchen fire yesterday afternoon.

Two fire crews from Westlea and Stratton stations attended the incident in The Fox, Purton, at around 4.40pm, but discovered the fire was out on their arrival.

South Western Ambulance Service sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance.

Firefighters used Positive Pressure Ventilation to clear the property of smoke.

The road was blocked in both directions by the emergency services until 6.30pm.
