Station Road in Swindon closed as private ambulance arrives at crime scene

A British Transport Police forensic officer photographs the scene in Station Road

Station Road in Swindon has been closed by police whilst the body of a man found in undergrowth this morning is recovered into a private ambulance.

The road outside the railway station was shut to both motorists and pedestrians from Sheppard Street to Wellington Street – including side roads which lead on it – at around 3pm.

The closure is to prevent members of the public viewing the undertakers recovering the body from the scene. It’s expected to reopen at around 4.15pm.

Anyone who wishes to access Swindon Railway Station whilst the road closure is in place can do so by foot on Station Road (via Wellington Street or from the Corporation Street direction) or by vehicle through the car park opposite Aylesbury Street.
