Firefighters battle car blaze in Lidl supermarket car park in Warminster

Firefighters have battled a car blaze in a supermarket car park in Warminster this afternoon.

The fire broke out at around 1.35pm outside Lidl – the car was completely destroyed in the incident.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Officers were alerted to a vehicle fire in Lidl car park at 13.45hrs today.

“Thankfully, fire crews were on scene within mintues of the blaze taking hold and nobody was hurt.

“There was some minor traffic disruption to the area for a short time, but all is back to normal now.”
