Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance lands near Melksham for medical incident

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance landed near Melksham for an emergency this afternoon.

The yellow helicopter flew around 40 miles to a field off A365 Bath Road at Atworth for a serious medical incident within a private address at around 6.05pm.

An ambulance and two ambulance rapid response vehicles were parked in Godwins Closed as critical care medics worked alongside local medical teams at the scene.

The patient, understood to have suffered a cardiac arrest, was taken to Royal United Hospital in Bath.
