Officers have identified a number of individuals believed to be involved, and almost 20 officers were involved in arrests at various addresses around Swindon this morning.

A dozen police officers raced to the scene but the suspects had already fled the area

In total, seven males, aged between 17 and 18 are currently in Gablecross custody arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

Insp David Tippetts said: “We appreciate that the footage of this incident will no doubt have caused concern amongst the local community. Violence of this nature is completely unacceptable. People are only now starting to venture out following lockdown and many of these people will have their own anxieties about going out – footage of this incident will no doubt have added to their concerns.

“Please be reassured that we take reports of this nature seriously, and since the incident, officers have been working tirelessly to identify those involved and this morning we have successfully arrested seven individuals. Our enquiries remain ongoing at this time.”
