Police guard crime scene on Swindon footpath after sexual assault report

Police are currently guarding a crime scene in place on a footpath in Swindon this afternoon following a report of sexual assault.

The cordon, between Shrivenham Road and Drakes Way, was cordoned off with police tape at around midday.

The area is likely to be closed to pedestrians for several hours.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Our enquiries are ongoing following an allegation of a crime being committed on Drakes Way, Swindon, in the early hours of this morning (11/7).

“At this stage, we are keeping an open mind as officers continue their enquiries in the area.”
