‘Vulnerable’ disabled man assaulted in Swindon street robbery

Police are investigating a report of a robbery which occurred in Swindon this week.

At approximately 10pm on Wednesday 1 July, a man in his 40s was out on a walk in the Penhill area when he was approached by another man who assaulted him, causing him to fall to the floor.

When the victim returned home, he noticed his bank card and £20 cash had been stolen.

Insp Colin Conway said: “The victim has a number of visible disabilities which make him vulnerable – he is also partially sighted but has given officers the best account of the incident that he could.

“We’d urge any witnesses to get in touch as any information, regardless of how insignificant it may seem, could be really helpful.”
