Woman airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after Lechlade crash

A woman was seriously injured in a crash on the main road between Lechlade and Fairford.

The road traffic collision – involving a Citroen van and a KTM motorcycle – happened just before 1pm yesterday afternoon on the Bryworth Lane junction of the A417.

A Hampshire woman, in her 60s, who had been riding pillion on the bike suffered serious leg injuries. She was flown to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford by Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

The male rider of the motorcycle suffered minor injuries. The driver of the van involved, a woman from Bibury, was uninjured.

The road was closed for several hours while an investigation took place.

Investigating officers are asking for witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage of the incident to call 101 quoting incident 187 of 16 June.
