Man charged with raping child and other serious offences after Ramsbury incident

A man’s been charged with three counts of raping a child and numerous other serious offences following an incident at an address in a rural Wiltshire village on Saturday.

As first reported by Wiltshire 999s, emergency services from across the north and east of the county were called to a disturbance at a property in Ramsbury at around 8.30am.

Upon arrival at the scene, an officer was forced to taser a 40-year-old man who was then arrested.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “David Alan Watts, 40, of Knowledge Hill, Ramsbury, appeared at Bristol Magistrates Court today (15/06) charged with false imprisonment, three counts of rape of a girl under 13, assault by penetration of a girl under 13, making threats to kill, and two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.

“He was arrested following an incident at a property in Ramsbury on Saturday morning (13/06).

“No pleas were entered during today’s appearance and Watts has been remanded in custody to next appear at Bristol Crown Court on 13/07/20.”
