Air ambulances land in Swindon after man found injured in the street

Two air ambulances landed on a Swindon field this evening to attend to an injured man.

999 crews were called to the scene after the casualty was found in May Close at around 7.30pm.

A Wiltshire Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle (RRV), Wiltshire Air Ambulance helicopter and Thames Valley Air Ambulance helicopter all attended the scene with critical care medics.

South Western Ambulance Service sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer in an RRV to the incident – they were first to attend to the patient.

Though Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed at the scene, it left within minutes. A critical care paramedic was dropped off at the location after their RRV colleague called in for assistance.

The man’s injuries are unclear at this stage; we’ve approached the ambulance service for comment.

There aren’t thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
