Police spend day forensically searching farmhouse after Swindon pursuit

Police have made four arrests and spent the day forensically searching a large farmhouse in Cricklade following a pursuit which ended in Swindon yesterday evening.

There’s been a large police presence at the property on Chelworth Road since two-hour police chase, but a specialist search team were called in to comb the house this morning.

Detectives and investigators could be seen sitting outside the property labelling and bagging evidence as a uniformed police officer guarded the entrance to Pear Tree Farm.

Three crime scene investigation vans, a dog unit and various unmarked and marked police vehicles were parked in Chelworth Industrial Estate whilst they attended the scene.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “This [search] relates to a pursuit last night at approximately 8pm which started on the High Street in Cricklade involving a black Vauxhall Corsa.

“Four local men have been arrested in relation to this: a 24-year-old, 19-year-old, 21-year-old and 35-year-old. The 24-year-old has now been released under investigation. The other three are still in custody.

“Our enquiries are continuing and the police presence on the Chelworth Industrial Estate is part of our investigation in to this incident.”
