Wiltshire Air Ambulance has landed on the Isle of Wight this evening to support emergency services who are treating with a casualty who is thought to have fallen down a cliff.

Coastguard rescue teams from across the island, and a coastguard helicopter, are at the scene 70 miles away on the north-east coastline between Seaview and St Helens, the Island Echo reported.

The casualty, who is said to have fallen from cliffs at Priory Bay, is said to be seriously injured.

It’s thought the Wiltshire critical care team were called in because many of the island’s other medical resources were dealing with a man hit by a train just two miles away.
