Two fire crews assist medics with moving bariatric patient in Melksham

Firefighters helped the ambulance service remove a bariatric patient from a property this morning.

Two fire crews from Trowbridge – one fire engine and the heavy rescue unit (HRU) – were called to the scene in Kingsbury Square, Melksham, at around 10.15am.

The patient was said to be showing early signs of sepsis.

It’s understood they were taken to the Royal United Hospital for treatment following the rescue.
