Major search operation underway as man goes missing from Swindon hospital

A major operation is underway in Swindon this afternoon as police and trained volunteers worked to locate a missing person who left Great Western Hospital.

The police helicopter was overhead today as police look for 34-year-old Shaun Peachey.

Around two dozen volunteers from Wiltshire Search and Rescue have gathered in The Sun Inn car park near Coate Water Country Park as they prepare to start the operation.

Shaun is described as white, and is wearing a green hoody, white t-shirt, grey tracksuit bottoms, green trainers, a North Face khaki jacket and a grey baseball hat.

Anyone with information relating to his whereabouts should call police on 999, quoting log 70.
