Regent Circus attack victim Sam Short ‘in coma’, his family say

Sam Short, the victim of a serious assault outside Byron’s Wine Bar in Swindon town centre, has been put into an induced coma by doctors, his family have said.

Eight people have been arrested following the attack, in which Sam sustained suffered a broken collar bone, head injuries and wounds to his face during the incident.

Across social media, well wishes have been pouring in from family, friends and strangers as they hope he soon recovers from his injuries.

DS Mark Lewis from Swindon CID said: “This is believed to be an isolated incident and our enquiries are continuing. We would like anyone who was in the area at the time of the assault to come forward and speak with us.

“It was very busy in this area of town at the time of the incident and I’m sure there will have been further witnesses to the incident.”
