Man flown to hospital by Wiltshire Air Ambulance after hit-and-run

A man’s be flown to hospital by Wiltshire Air Ambulance following a hit-and-run in Swindon.

Emergency services were called to the incident Rodbourne Road, near Swindon Designer Outlet at 3.30pm, where a man – in his 20s – suffered serious head injuries in a crash.

Police say driver of the vehicle involved is not believed to have stopped at the scene.

The crash is being treated as a hit-and-run with detectives from CID involved in the investigation alongside specialist roads policing officers and a collision investigator.

A large number of paramedics were at the scene during the height of the incident, including an Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and two critical care teams from two air ambulances.

Rodbourne Road is expected to remain closed until later tonight for collision investigation work.

A police spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing and the road has been closed while enquiries are ongoing.

“Any witnesses should call 101 and quote log number 200 of March 6.”
