Wiltshire village’s life-saving defibrillator ‘wrecked beyond repair’

A small Wiltshire village’s life-saving defibrillator has been destroyed over the weekend.

The damage was caused to the automated external defibrillator (AED) – which is located in a former phone box on Andover Road, Upavon – at some point between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Local parish councillor Mandy Wernham said the device was “wrecked beyond repair” in “a mindless act of vandalism”, “adding lets hope no one needs it”.

It’s one of just two devices located in public spaces in the village with a population of 4,400 people.
