A protected cottage displaying a Liberal Democrat poster has been damaged with paint in Bradford on Avon.
This news comes just three weeks after political posters and a car were damaged with the same colour paint in the Melksham area – part of the Chippenham constituency.
The victim’s listed cottage, in St Margaret’s Street, was targeted overnight on Sunday 1 December.
Officers investigating the criminal damage urged anyone in the area who may have seen something suspicious or may have dash cam footage to review it and get in touch with them.
PC Michelle Haley, from Wiltshire Police, said: “We are keeping an open mind as to the motives of this criminal damage but it is highly likely that this is because of the political poster displayed.
“Politics is a particularly divisive subject at this time but it is not acceptable to deliberately target and deface someone’s property because you don’t agree with their views.”
Anyone with information relating to this incident should contact Wiltshire Police by calling 101. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
