BNP youth leader turned ‘Pavement Poet’ Daniel Rowland convicted of revenge porn

A former BNP youth leader has been convicted of revenge porn at Swindon Court Court.

‘Pavement Poet’ Daniel Rowland, who has since became known for chalking his poetry across Swindon town centre streets in recent years, was convicted of the offence on Monday.

Formerly known as Danny Lake, he served as the leader of BNP Youth between 2005 to 2007.

In court, the details of his offence against a Swindon woman who shared naked photographs of herself with him some two years earlier became very clear.

Homeless Rowland pleaded guilty to posting a number of indecent photographs of the woman on Facebook after learning that she had started a new relationship in December 2018.

The photographs posted remained online for around 20 minutes, the court heard. In that time, a number of people viewed the images and has made some ‘hurtful’ remarks.

Rowland was sentenced to 120 hours of community payback, to last 12 months.
