Woman taken to ‘place of safety’ after threatening A419 flyover jump

A woman’s been taken to a ‘place of safety’ after a welfare-related incident in Swindon today.

Police officers were called to the A419 at around 4.30pm this afternoon following reports of a woman on the flyover above the Commonhead Roundabout.

The road was closed for a short time while officers dealt with the incident.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said officers “have taken the woman to a place of safety”.

South Western Ambulance Service were also called to the scene.
