Motorcyclist injured in crash that has partially blocked Great Western Way

A motorcyclist has been injured in an incident on Great Western Way in Swindon.

Initially reported as a car versus motorbike collision, it’s now believed the motorbike was the only vehicle involved – with the motorbike having slid from under the rider on the roundabout.

It happened at around 1.20pm, with an off-duty detective from Swindon CID first at the scene, followed by police officers who then provided emergency first aid until medics arrived.

The casualty’s injuries aren’t thought to be serious.
