Traffic at a standstill as man hit by car in Royal Wootton Bassett high street

UPDATE 18.05: The road has since fully reopened.

There is standstill traffic on Royal Wootton Bassett high street following a collision this evening.

It’s understood emergency services are currently (5.30pm) attending to a pedestrian, thought to be a male in his 30s, who has been hit by a car on the busy main road through the town.

One local resident told Wiltshire 999s ‘they are treating someone in the road near Boots’.

There are severe delays in the area, as 999 crews are blocking the road.
