Mother’s sadness as baby’s Christmas presents stolen from car in Salisbury

Wiltshire Police have launched an appeal for information after Christmas presents were stolen from a car parked on a Salisbury road.

The presents were stolen from the vehicle in Methuen Drive at some point overnight on Monday 19 into Tuesday 20 December 2016.

The wrapped gifts were intended for the victim’s child from family members who they will not see now until after Christmas. The theft has had a massive impact on the victim.

The mother has asked not to be identified but said: “This is my little one’s first Christmas and the presents were from Grandparents and an Auntie who are also very upset that their special gifts have been stolen. I know my baby won’t be aware but that is not the point.

“It feels very raw and upsetting, the car has been smashed and routed through by someone and the worst feeling is that they might come back. I can’t use the car now and the impact of that is really stressful as we need it to get around. I am devastated that this has happened and ask that anyone who has information contacts the police please.”

Officers would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information.
