BREAKING: Marlborough motorcyclist killed in crash on A4 near Calne

A motorcyclist from Marlborough has died in a crash on the A4 near Calne late last night.

Emergency services were called to the scene at just after 11pm following reports of the single-vehicle road traffic collision on the main road in Cherhill.

Only a Kawasaki motorcycle, ridden by a 29-year-old man, was involved in the crash.

An air ambulance was sent to the incident, but critical care medics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The road was closed in both directions for around seven hours, reopening in the early hours of Saturday.

Wiltshire Police ask that anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage relating to the incident contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Devizes HQ by calling 101.
