Fire crews extract casualty after van crashes into tree in Liddington

A vehicle has collided with a tree in Liddington this evening.

Emergency services responded to reports of a crash on Liddington Hill at around 7pm today, Thursday 6 April, and discovered a driver trapped inside a van.

The vehicle was travelling down the hill towards the Swindon area.

Two crews, one from Swindon Community Fire Station and one from Stratton Fire Station attended the scene to assist South Western Ambulance Service free to casualty.

The road was closed in both directions for about an hour and a half.

The driver of the vehicle is not believed to have sustained serious injuries.
