Hero police officers save life of man who entered lake in Swindon

Police officers in Swindon have saved the life of a man who entered a lake earlier this evening.

The incident happened at Shaftesbury Lake, on Shaftesbury Avenue at around 8.30pm.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “A man had entered the lake and got into difficulty.

”The officers assisted in his safe recovery after deploying one of the rescue throw ropes that we carry in our patrol cars.”

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended the incident, but the man had already been rescued.
