Man left with life-threatening injuries during burglary in Swindon

A man’s suffered life-threatening injuries during burglary in Swindon town centre.

It happened at a residential address on Manchester Road at just after 7pm last night, where a male suspect had entered the second floor flat and demanded money.

After he left the property and officers arrived, a 34-year-old man, thought to be the victim of the burglary, was located inside with a serious head injury.

POLICE CARRYING OUT DOOR-TO-DOOR ENQUIRIES IN THE AREA

He was taken to hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “The suspect is described as black, approximately 6ft 6ins tall and wearing a ¾ length coat, black tracksuit in waterproof material with the hood up and his face covered to his nose with a scarf.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call us on 101 and quote log number 289 of 29/12.”

Police officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area.
