UPDATE: Suspected drug dealer arrested after machete fight in Swindon

A suspected drug dealer is one of two more people to have been arrested following a disorder in a usually calm and peaceful residential street in Swindon on Saturday.

The incident happened at just before 8pm on the 3 November, with three people suffering serious injuries including a 15-year-old boy who was stabbed.

Armed police officers have been roped in to assist with arrests attempts across the town.

A 24-year-old man, from Swindon, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, while another 24-year-old man, also from Swindon, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. Both are in custody at Gablecross.

A large quantity of drugs have also been seized from an address in the town centre.

Det Insp Paul Hacker, from Swindon CID, said: “This is a complex investigation involving a large number of people involved in a disorder, as well as a number of witnesses who are continuing to help us piece together exactly what happened on Saturday night.

“I want to reassure the public that we are making progress and our investigation is continuing.

“Please don’t be alarmed if you continue to see a police presence in some parts of Swindon, we will be carrying out extra patrols to provide some reassurance for the community.”
