Man, 35, arrested after person injured in Royal Wootton Bassett crash

A man’s been arrested following an incident in Royal Wootton Bassett yesterday evening.

Eight police units, paramedics and the fire service were called to Buxton Way at around 6pm following reports that a man had been injured in a crash involving two vehicles.

A car, which was witnessed driving in erratic manner by local residents, collided with a removals van which is understood to have blocked the road in an attempt to stop the male driver driving dangerously around the quiet housing estate – where children play.

A 35-year-old man, from the town, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, drink driving and dangerous driving. He remains in custody, Wiltshire Police said.

One man was injured in the incident, but his condition is unknown.
