Elderly man suffers life-threatening injuries in north Swindon hit-and-run

COLLISION INVESTIGATORS AT THE SCENE

An elderly man has sustained life-threatening injuries in a hit-and-in in north Swindon.

999 crews, including critical care paramedics from Wiltshire Air Ambulance, attended the incident on the junction with Southernwood Drive and Westfield Way at around 8.50pm last night.

COLLISION INVESTIGATORS AT THE SCENE

The crash involved a blue Vauxhall Corsa, a red Toyota Yaris and a pedestrian. The occupants of the Corsa fled the scene on foot, sparking a major police search operation.

A 75-year-old man from the Toyota was given CPR at the scene of the incident. He sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital.

POLICE AT THE SCENE OF THE COLLIISON

Detectives from Swindon CID are understood to be investigating the incident.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Police are keen to trace any witnesses to the incident, anyone who may have seen the vehicles prior to the collision and anyone who was in the area at the time and may have any dash cam footage.
