M4 closed in both directions as police work to resolve ongoing ‘incident’ near Swindon

UPDATE: The M4 has since reopened, police say.

Police have closed the M4 in both directions for an ‘incident’.

The motorway is shut between junctions 15 and 16, and has been since 6pm.

The nature of the incident is not yet known. Updates to follow.
