Police vehicles surround car to carry out drugs stop on Queens Drive in Swindon

Police stopped a car for a drugs search on a main road in Swindon this afternoon.

A number of police vehicles surrounded a grey Nissan on the New College junction of Queens Drive, with Tri-force Roads Policing Unit and Tri-force Armed Response Vehicle in attendance.

Three occupants of the car – two men and a woman – were searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

The driver, one of the males, provided a breath sample and undertook a drugs wipe but it is not clear whether any arrests were made.

Wiltshire Police have been approached for comment – update to follow on Tuesday.
