32 firefighters spent eight hours tackling house blaze in village near Malmesbury

Dozens of firefighters spent around eight hours tackling a blaze at a house on Monday.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the fire in the village of Great Somerford at around 8.30am yesterday morning, 26 March.

Eight crews, amounting to a total of 32 firefighters tackled to ‘complex’ blaze, which is understood to have destroyed about 25% of the property. The whole property was smoke damaged.

The occupants of the property were not at home when disaster struck.
