23-year-old student killed in Chatham car park after man slits her throat

Named locally: Molly McLaren, 23

A woman has died after being attacked with a knife in a Kent car park.

The 23-year-old, who has been named locally as as University of Kent student Molly McLaren, died after her throat was slit while she was sat in her car.

The savage attack took place outside Dockside shopping centre in Chatham at around 10.03am on Thursday 29 June.

Police have confirmed that the incident involved a knife and Molly sadly died at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of her murder.

The incident us understood to be a domestic crime, and is not terrorism related.
