A man’s been charged with assaulting an emergency service worker after a police officer was injured during an arrest at a home in Swindon this morning.

Armed police stormed the property in Peatmoor at around 8am, where 21-year-old Billie Martin – who was wanted after being re-called to prison – was located.

But reportedly failing to comply with officers meant he was restrained and tasered at least once.

In footage viewed by Wiltshire 999s, it appeared that Billie began having a seizure shortly after being tasered and an ambulance was called to the scene immediately.

The footage also shows a police officer retreating from the arrest, complaining of a bite to the hand.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We are aware of a video circulating on social media in relation to the arrest of a man at an address in Peatmoor, Swindon.

“This arrest happened this morning at 8am as the suspect was wanted for recall to prison.

“We would like to make it clear that a paramedic attended the address and deemed the defendant fit and well, so he was transported to custody.

“Billie Martin, 21, of Lulworth Road, Swindon, has been charged with one count of assaulting an emergency worker. He has also been recalled to prison for a separate matter.
