11-year-old boy ‘left upset’ after being racially abused in Salisbury

An 11-year-old boy was ‘left upset and shaken’ after he was racially abused in Salisbury.

It happened at around 8.35am on Monday in Parsonage Green, Harnham.

The boy was approached by a man who remonstrated with him and made comments which we believe were racially-motivated. He was not injured in any way but was left upset and shaken by what happened.

PC Andy Windsor, from Salisbury Community Policing Team, said: “This is a very disturbing incident where a grown man has spoken to this child in a very derogatory and offensive way.

“We know it will have been busy in the area around the time of the incident, so are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

“The man is described as white, of slim build with short ginger hair, wearing dark denim jeans, a light green jacket and a green baseball cap pulled down over his eyes.”

Anyone with information should call PC Windsor on 101, quoting crime reference 54200009638. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
